Good Turnout of Indigenous Mushers for This Year’s Iditarod

More good news: Nine indigenous Alaskans are registered for this year’s race. Not as many as in the earliest Iditarods, but an improvement over the past couple of decades which has seen a drop in numbers, due largely to the rising costs of training and entering the race and the difficulty of obtaining sponsorship.
